Water Wells
Over 98% of the water in Guatemala is contaminated and has caused thousands of deaths each year, unfortunately most are children. Drinking contaminated water leads to a number of deadly diseases such as diarrhea, malaria, typhoid, cholera, worms, parasites and many others. Diarrhea caused by contaminated water is the leading cause of death in children under five. In some communities, families have to travel hours to find water, bringing it back in buckets. Others walk to public washing stations, which provide water service that is not filtered or is disinfected.

It costs an average of $ 5,000 to build a shallow water well and $10,000 for a deep water well.  Help us to establish a safe water system with your donation.
